RINA is currently recruiting for a Internship - R&D&I Project Management to join its office in Genoa within the Innovation Proposal & Project Management Division.

Mission

RINA is looking for an Internship - R&D&I Project Manager. The internship aims to provide hands-on training in the management of innovation and funded R&D projects within the field of Sustainable Chemical Processes for fuels, materials, and energy storage. The intern will support the Innovation Project Management team and work under the continuous guidance of an assigned buddy (Senior Project Manager or Team Leader), gradually developing technical, organizational, and project coordination skills.

Key Accountabilities

During the internship, the intern will contribute to ongoing activities while being mentored by experienced colleagues. The experience is designed to build understanding of innovation project dynamics rather than independent responsibility.

Support to Proposal Development

Under the supervision of the buddy, the intern will:

  • Become familiar with national, European, and international R&D funding frameworks, call requirements, and evaluation criteria.
  • Support the analysis of call texts, scoring models, and award criteria.
  • Contribute to the definition of proposal concepts and value propositions aligned with call requirements and RINA’s strategic objectives.
  • Assist in coordinating inputs from internal teams and external partners (e.g. universities, research centers, industrial partners).
  • Support the preparation of technical sections of proposals, learning how to use appropriate scientific and technical language.
  • Assist in the collection of supporting documentation (CVs, partner profiles, references).
  • Support basic cost and effort estimation activities, with guidance from project managers and the financial team.

Support to Project Coordination and Delivery

  • Support the organization and coordination of project teams, observing role definition and task allocation.
  • Assist in communication with project partners, clients, and funding bodies, always under supervision.
  • Support the preparation of project documentation, progress reports, and meeting minutes.
  • Observe and learn how quality, timelines, and contractual requirements are monitored throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Interest in innovation, research, and project-based environments.
  • Willingness to learn within multidisciplinary and multicultural teams.
  • Basic understanding of engineering or scientific topics relevant to the projects.
  • Motivation to develop organizational, communication, and project coordination skills.

Language

  • Advanced English proficiency required.

Education

Master’s Degree in Chemical Engineering or Other
