We are looking for exceptional individuals to join our brand-new service hub in Trieste, Italy. This is your chance to leave a mark on an industry that moves the world. Come build something extraordinary with us - let’s rule the seas together.


If you have a passion for hands-on technical work and a background in mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems – we want to hear from you. You will work on and around shipboard cranes, winches, hatch covers, steering gears, and RoRo equipment, out in the field – on vessels, at shipyards, and at client sites across Europe.


More tasks and responsibilities


  • Perform supervised service activities including inspections, preventive maintenance, repairs, refurbishments, und upgrades on MacGregor and equivalent third-party equipment.
  • Work hands-on with electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems across the MacGregor product portfolio.

  • Read and work from technical drawings and documentation.

  • Follow all site safety rules, agreed working practices, and environmental requirements.

  • Prepare accurate service reports, time sheets, travel expenses, and other required documentation.

  • Build strong working relationships with internal and external customers, representing MacGregor professionally on site.
  • Cooperate with the wider MacGregor service network across Europe.

What you’ll need to succeed


  • Apprenticeship, technical diploma, or degree in mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or related field.

  • Up to 2 years of hands-on technical experience – we welcome candidates from a variety of backgrounds.

  • Ability to read technical drawings and manuals and use standard hand tools and diagnostic equipment.

  • Good digital skills, including report writing and basic data entry.

  • Good command of English for report writing and on-site communication.

  • A valid driving license.

  • Willingness to travel extensively within Europe, including overnight and multi-week assignments.

The base salary for this position is estimated at €35,000 – €38,000 gross per year, depending on experience, qualifications, and skills.
