The purpose of this role is to provide specialist legal advice and negotiation value essentially for domestic and non-domestic commercial activities, deploying legal Terms & Conditions, in participating and contributing with a self-driven approach to multifunctional/multijurisdictional teams.

This role includes a wide capacity in executing the legal strategy when supporting its internal Senior Legal responsible and when interfacing the various internal client; providing legal advice for legal matters arising out. Advising its internal Senior Legal responsible and internal client on Company guidelines, policies and procedures in order to ensure statutory and regulatory compliance; identifying critical issues and supporting its Senior Legal Responsible on major and high-risk exposure projects.

The ideal candidate is a high reliable and trustworthy professional capable of exercising sound judgment, maintaining strict confidentiality and handling sensitive legal and corporate information with the utmost discretion and professionalism.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES:

  • Advise on commercial T&Cs in negotiations mainly, but not exclusively, with domestic and non-domestic customers and partners, based in EU and abroad out of EU perimeter, with a specific focus on sale agreements, NDA, MOU, LOI, Collaboration Agreements, Intellectual Property agreements, partnering agreements, etc.;
  • Act as legal support relating to Procurement, Programs, CTO and SBD functions, on follow up and support phase, after contract signature, for relevant legal deployment, preparing ancillary contracts, amendments, etc., and providing legal guidelines;
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on spot requests and needs, in relation to specific legal issues;
  • Analise legal aspects of the deal treated;
  • Prepare and deliver legal research for training to non-lawyers colleagues, on specific topics in alignment with Group Legal guidelines and needs;
  • Analyse and contribute in handling product /customers/supplier’s claims;
  • Be a proactive so to anticipate issues and/or contribute in developing grounded legal solutions;
  • Be a trusted legal support member of the Legal Group community, participating actively to common projects;
  • High level of integrity, discretion and professionalism with ability to handle sensitive information appropriately;
  • The role involves regular interaction with international stakeholders and therefore requires a high degree of flexibility, together with willingness and ability to travel extensively, both within Europe and internationally, as business needs dictate.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

Graduated Level: Law Degree (laurea magistrale).

Italian Bar qualified LLM or MBA will be considered a plus.

Work Experience:

  • Legal counsel with a minimum of 5+years post-qualification experience, ideally with a combination of international law firm experience and in-house role in international high-tech/defence companies;
  • Proficiency in multiple areas of law such as international commercial, anti-trust, product liability, IP, export control laws, familiar with civil and common law systems, with strong analytical skills Experience in Defence and/or Aviation, Innovation & Technology industries is a plus;
  • Ability in participating and working in cross functional teams;
  • Experience in operating in cross-countries jurisdictions within the European Union and UK, other jurisdictions is a plus.

Critical Legal Competencies:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in Italian and English, and possibly another language (French, Spanish, German);
  • Business acumen, responsiveness, self-initiative and motivation, problem solving approach;
  • Coordination and organisation capacity of deals followed;
  • Litigation experience;
  • Strong behavioural integrity, collaborative approach and team worker attitude;
  • Familiarity with multicultural environments.
